Lahaul and Spiti

Lahaul-Spiti is a largest district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is one of the most spectacular valleys with ancient monasteries and natural formations. It consists of the two formerly separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti. Lahaul spiti, leh and ladhakh are the ideal destinations for visitors, tourists and trekkers as well as local people in Himachal Pradesh.
After visiting there you will feel like you are in heaven on earth. It is situated at an altitude of 3340 m in the North Eastern corner of Himachal Pradesh. It is not possible for tourist to visit there throughout the year as this valley is situated in rain shadow area and it snows heavily and temperature falls down below minus. During summers i.e. from May to Mid of October the weather remains pleasant and its comfortable to visit and stay out there.
You can visit Pin Valley National Park over there, as it is located in the Pin valley of Spiti at height of 12,000 m above sea level. It is home to endangered species like Snow leopard, the endemic Himalayan Ibex, the mighty Bharal or Blue Sheep and Lynx. Another destination you can visit there is Museums/Art Galleries, Forts of Tribal Art. You can also enjoy Mountaineering, River Rafting, Paragliding, Fishing and Angling, Camping Sites, Sking and Jeep Safari to Leh, Kaza, Manali, Udaipur, Kilar and Tosomo Riri. SUMNAM SKI SLOP: One of the largest ski slopes in India which is 8 km from Keylong 6.5 km long and 2 to 4km wide.
At present the foreign tourists/foreigners are being permitted to visit the restricted/protected areas by the authorities specified under section 3 of the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order 1958 by the State Govt.
