Kanwar Wildlife Sanctuary

The Kanwar Sanctuary is located in Parbati valley of Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. The sanctuary is established in 1954 and it covers an area 60.7 km2. Nested by the dense mountains peaks this sanctuary has a number of rivers, lakes, springs and religious sites to enjoy on the way.

Uphill journey from kasol along Garahan Nala through dense deodar and fir forests with rocky cliffs and narrow valleys can never be forgotten. Apart from wildlife creatures this valley is also famous for trekking and religious point of view. Everyone is advised over there not to disturb, call or feed the birds and animals inside the sanctuary.

One can reach the kanwar wildlife sanctuary by air from Bhuntar, 10 kilometers away or by train from Joginder Nagar, 95 kilometers away or by road.
