Daranghati Sanctuary

The Daranghati Sanctuary is located in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The sanctuary is notified in 1962 and covers an area of about 167 km2. Monal, Tragopan, Koklas and Kalij are the pheasants found here. Some of the common animals found here are Musk deer, Goral and Thar.
You can reach daranghati sanctuary by air (Jubbarhatti (23 kilometers from Shimla) or by railway shimla (177 kilometers from Shimla) or by road. Tourists from all over the world come to visit and see the “King of the Bird” named as “Jujurana” or western tragopan.
