Chamba is situated between Ravi and Chandrabhaga valley in the lap of majestic Western Himalaya.
Chamba is also known as the land of lord Shiva which is famous for its untouched natural beauty. Main tourist places in Chamba are Dalhousie, Khajjiar, Chamba Town, Pangi and Bharamour including five lakes, five wild life sanctuaries and a number of temples.
Most visited place in chamba is khajiar which s often known as Switzerland of India. It is a large open space surrounded by thick forest of deodar. A 12th century temple dedicated to Khaji nag is also there which is famous for life size wooden images of the Pandeva’s.
Dalhousie is also famous tourist destination over there and is named after the Lord Dalhousie British Governor of the 19th century.
Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture temples and some beautiful churches. Its location presents panoramic views of the plains and like a long silver line, the river Ravi twists and turns below Dalhousie. The spectacular snow-covered Dhauladhar Mountains are also visible from this enchanting town.
